10 TIPS THAT CAN SAVE YOU FROM CYBER THEFT


  1. KEEP UPDATED SOFTWARE :-  Update your computer software  regularly. This can reduce the chance of malware and virus attack on your computer.
  2. USE ANTI-VIRUS, ANTI-MALWARE SOFTWARE :-  To keep your computer safe from common virus and malware; use anti-virus and anti-malware software in your computer.
  3. SECURE YOUR WIFI :-  Secure your WIFI network by complex password; take great care while choosing your WIFI password.
  4. DON'T USED SHARED OR PUBLIC COMPUTER :-  Don't use shared computer or computer of public place for online banking or net banking. Your information, ID or PASSWORD can be stolen from there; and you will become prone to cyber attack.
  5. DON'T OPEN STRANGER LINK :-  Without any information about a link; please don't click the attachment or link received from strangers.
  6. DON'T SHARE PERSONAL INFORMATION :-  Don't share your personal information on unknown websites or mail from unknown mail sender; especially on such websites or mails which are claiming that they are from bank or credit card company.
  7. NEVER GIVE MORE INFORMATION THAN REQUIRED :-  If you feel sure about the call that is from bank, then give only minimum; minimum required information. Never give more information than required. Please keep in mind that bank personnel knows your PIN or address or other information. They never ask for that.
  8. DON'T SHARE YOUR OTP :-  Please don't share the OTP ( One Time Password ) received on your mobile to any one on phone, mail, message and never to any such person who try to persuade you that he/she  is bank officer or government officer.
  9. KEEP UPDATED MOBILE No. AND MAIL ID IN YOUR BANK :-  Update your mobile number and email id to your bank account in case of any change; this reduces the chance of cyber theft.
  10. DON'T WRITE PASSWORD, MEMORIZE IT :-  Don't write your net banking ID or Password, ATM password and PIN to any place, memorize it. This can save unauthorized access of criminals in your account.
